SakinaMatch is a moderated matrimonial platform built with safety at its core. Here are our guidelines to help you navigate the journey to Nikah safely and with dignity.
Do not share your phone number, home address, workplace, or social media profiles with any match until you are confident in their identity and intentions — and until your wali is involved.
Islam prescribes the wali (guardian) for a reason. Involve a trusted family member or imam from the beginning of any serious conversation. This protects both parties and ensures Islamic propriety.
Legitimate matches will never ask for financial information, passwords, or personal identification documents. If anyone does, report them immediately.
If a conversation feels rushed, pressured, or inappropriate, end it. You can report any profile directly from the app. Our team reviews all reports personally.
If you arrange to meet in person, do so in a public place with a chaperone (mahram) present. Never meet alone for a first meeting.
All SakinaMatch members have been through an admin verification process, but remain vigilant. Check that the person you are speaking with is consistent and transparent.
Report any concerning behaviour directly from a profile, or email our safety team.
